baumalight-dr448-48-inch-industrial-tree-spade-wired-controls
Baumalight DR448 48-Inch Industrial Tree Spade, Wired Controls

The Baumalight DR448 is an industrial skid steer tree spade with a 48-inch root ball diameter. Four 5/16-inch T1 steel blades run in nylon slides, and this configuration includes wired electric controls with 20 feet of wire.

Each blade has its own hydraulic cylinder to drive it through soil and roots and hold its position while the tree is lifted. The nylon slides guide the blades along their towers. The 48-inch-diameter, 38-inch-deep root ball makes the DR448 a choice for larger nursery stock, with manufacturer trunk ratings of 6 inches for evergreens and 5 inches for hardwoods.

The move from an SS330 to the DR448 is also a move to a larger carrier. Baumalight lists a 6,020-pound reference weight with a root ball and minimum carrier weights of 10,870 pounds wheeled or 9,870 pounds tracked.

DR448 specifications

Specification

Details

Root ball

48-inch diameter; 38-inch depth

Blades

4; 5/16-inch T1 steel; 25-degree angle

Blade guides

Nylon slides

Mount

Universal skid steer plate

Controls

Wired electric; 20 feet of wire

Hydraulic supply

10–35 GPM; 2,900–4,000 PSI

Trunk ratings

6-inch evergreen; 5-inch hardwood

Manufacturer reference weights

3,785 lb attachment; 6,020 lb with root ball

Minimum carrier weight

10,870 lb wheeled; 9,870 lb tracked

Send our equipment team your skid steer model, auxiliary flow and pressure, and lift rating at the attachment.
