Volume, Empty Weight, and Payload

Cubic-yard volume measures space inside the body; it does not establish legal payload. Material density, running gear, installed equipment, and measured empty weight affect the load. Demco calls for empty weight to be measured on a commercial scale because equipment choices change trailer weight.
