Drum Mulchers

We offer drum mulchers from Baumalight, FAE, Fecon and Loftness for land clearing, fence lines, trails and roadside vegetation. We recommend choosing the mulcher around the tractor, skid steer or excavator you plan to use, then comparing cutting width and teeth for the material and finish you want.

Tractor Mulchers

Three-point tractor mulchers use PTO power. The Baumalight MP330 has a 30-inch rotor for compact-tractor work. Larger models provide more cutting width, with different PTO power and hitch requirements. Compare the attachment weight with the tractor's lift capacity as well as its PTO rating.

Skid-Steer Mulchers

Skid-steer and compact-track-loader mulchers include the FAE BL4/SSL 150 and Fecon BH74SS Bull Hog. Auxiliary hydraulic flow and pressure help determine the right motor, while the machine's lift capacity and cooling system must support the work. For mini skid steers, Baumalight offers the MS530M with a dedicated mini-skid-steer mount.

Excavator Mulchers

Excavator mulchers let you reach vegetation along banks, ditches and other areas beyond a loader's reach. Options include the FAE BL0/EX 75, FAE BL1/EX/VT 75, Fecon FMX28 and Loftness 31BX20 Battle Ax. Match the head to the excavator's operating weight, hydraulic system and mounting connection. Hose, coupler and case-drain requirements vary with the head and motor; the BL1/EX/VT requires a case drain and is supplied without hoses.

Teeth and Cutting Systems

Baumalight MP330 and MP348 models use high-speed teeth, while the MP560 and MP572 use carbide-tipped bolt-in teeth. Loftness offers several tooth choices on its 20 Series, and FAE Bite Limiter rotors are available in the BL0/EX, BL1/EX and BL4/SSL families. The vegetation, soil conditions and desired finish will help determine which cutting system suits the job.

For a different cutting arrangement, compare the Fecon DH60 Disc Hawk or our rotary brush cutters. Browse forestry equipment for additional land-clearing tools.
