Meridian SmoothWall Bin Capacity by Region and Model
Meridian sizes SmoothWall bins by region, model, and cone configuration. These details affect bushel capacity, bin height, and auger reach. In Meridian's Central USA table, the 1205 has a 12-foot diameter, 40-degree bottom cone, approximately 776 bushels, a 15-foot 8-inch height, and a 36-foot recommended auger. In the Western Canada table, the 1630 has a 16-foot diameter, approximately 5,813 bushels, a 43-foot 11-inch height, and a 72-foot recommended auger.

Aeration, Unloading, and Material Handling
Meridian offers horizontal, vertical, and AirMax 360 aeration systems for SmoothWall bins. Fertilizer should not be stored in a bin with an aeration system installed. The standard hopper-bin configuration provides two feet of clearance below the cone for auxiliary unloading equipment, so the gate and unload system need to be planned together.
Foundation and Site Planning
Meridian recommends a permanent concrete base sized for the full bin load and consultation with a civil engineer about the site, soil conditions, and slab design. The owner's manual also calls for keeping the bin at least 40 feet from power lines.
