Description

The Akron EXG480X is a tractor-powered grain bag unloader for 9- and 10-foot-diameter bags up to 500 feet long. This configuration combines a 17-inch discharge auger with hydraulic controls, adjustable feed speed, a hydraulic grain pusher and a light kit, with an unloading rating of up to 10,300 BPH.

Photo note: These dealer photos show the EXG400X predecessor as a reference. The listed model is the EXG480X, which has an updated rear drive system; appearance and component details may differ from the photographed machine.

Controlled feed and bag winding

The bag-winding system rolls up the emptied plastic as unloading progresses. Adjustable winding speed lets the operator control the machine's advance and grain feed. The included hydraulic pusher helps feed remaining grain into the pickup auger and assists with end-of-bag cleanout.

Tractor drive and hydraulic controls

The EXG480X requires a tractor with at least 90 HP and a 540 RPM PTO. Operator controls adjust the hydraulic functions and feed speed. The current EXG480X rear drive uses a driveshaft between upper and lower right-angle gearboxes, reducing maintenance compared with the preceding drive arrangement. The included light kit provides work and transport lighting.
