Overview

The Baumalight RSS380 is a high-performance planetary drive stump removal system designed for skid steers with a maximum carrier weight of 5,000 lbs.

The RSS380 operates at a low RPM, allowing it to contain wood chips and debris within the immediate work area for a cleaner, safer job site. The unit is built around a heavy-duty planetary drive that delivers up to 3,800 ft-lbs of torque without requiring a 12V electrical connection. This high-torque approach creates coarser mulch and allows even small carriers to grind through large hardwood stumps efficiently.

The RSS380 features a modular 2" hex drive system, allowing for quick transitions between the standard 20" diameter 4-knife stump planer, a threaded log splitter, or a heavy-duty auger. The design includes internal hose routing, main shaft seal protection, and sharpenable AR-steel blades to minimize long-term operating costs.

Modular 2" Hex Drive

The versatile 2" hex output shaft allows you to easily swap between the 20" Stump Planer, the Splinter Screw Log Splitter, or Auger bits. This turns your skid steer into an all-in-one site prep and maintenance machine.

Durable 4-Knife Cutting System

The 20" planer bit utilizes a dual-blade system for maximum efficiency: a smaller AR500 steel leading blade for the initial cut and a larger AR400 steel clean-up blade. All blades are sharpenable to extend service life and reduce replacement costs.

Rugged Build & Protection

The unit is encased in a heavy-duty steel frame with a durable powder-coat finish. It features internal hose routing with armor sleeving for operator safety and a protective flange that shields the main shaft seal from debris and bearing damage.

Easy Maintenance & Access

The RSS380 is designed for the operator. It includes an anti-slip mat for safe cab entry and exit, a hardened replaceable entry tip for the planer bit, and greaseable pins on the travelling hose support for smooth, long-term operation.
