The Baumalight SWF580 combines a 48-inch flail head with an articulated boom and stick for mowing grass and light brush along ditches, roadsides and fence lines. Its total reach is 14 feet with the boom flat. Separate boom, stick and head-tilt functions let the operator change the head’s position and mowing angle.
The two boom sections provide more positioning control than a single arm. This model trades the SWA models’ 60-inch cutting width for longer reach with a 48-inch head. Baumalight’s skid steer weight guide starts at 8,000 lb for the SWF580.
A solid flat-free tire and steel rear roller support the floating head on the ground. Adjustable front and rear mounts set cutting height. The rotor carries 38 standard F2000 flail clusters, with individually replaceable cutters, and the boom and stick fold for travel.
This mower includes the D530 piston motor and D004908 assembly for compatible skid steer joystick-button controls. The carrier needs six live switchable AUX pins for the boom, stick and tilt functions. A case drain is required; hoses are included and couplers are excluded.
