Overview

The Brillion SSBP‑6 Food Plot Seeder is a versatile 6-foot, ground-driven seeder designed to deliver precise planting across wildlife plots, cover crops, lawns, and pasture renovation projects. With a fully welded steel frame, this unit combines a micro-meter seed meter upfront and a blade-agitator box in the rear, both powered by the pulverizer/packer roller. A floating front hitch, adjustable disc gangs, and a seed-drive disconnect pin make it suitable for various seeding and tillage needs, no hydraulics or PTO required.

Key Features

Micro-Meter Front Seed Box
The front 2.625-bushel micro-meter box provides highly accurate seeding rates for small granular seeds. Adjustable sprockets and an integrated calibration tray allow quick tuning for different seed types and thicknesses.

Blade Agitator Rear Seed Box
The rear 2.625-bushel box uses a blade agitator and 4-inch openings to meter chaffy seeds and blends consistently. Ground-driven mechanics ensure synced delivery with the front meter, while a disconnect pin enables tillage-only operation.

Tillage Tools
Notched 18-inch disc gangs, spaced at 7.5 inches and adjustable to 10° or 15°, slice evenly into the soil.

Dual Pulverizer Rollers
An 11.5-inch front roller and a 9.5-inch rear roller prepare and firm soil while driving the seed meters. Both are cast iron and mounted on greaseable bearings for reliable operation and easy maintenance.

Floating Hitch System
The front-mounted floating hitch enables the seeder to contour uneven terrain, keeping discs and rollers at consistent working depths to avoid skipping or uneven seed placement.

Mechanical Drive Simplicity
All components, seed delivery, tillage, and rollers, are powered by ground engagement. No external power sources are needed, and the system comes chain-tensioned and ready to go. Adjustable settings provide flexibility for seed placement and soil conditioning.

Performance

Operating at 3–5 MPH, the SSBP‑6 covers approximately 3–5 acres per hour depending on soil and terrain. Disc gangs and prep the soil while dual rollers firm the seedbed and power the metering system. Ground-driven seed meters ensure consistent seeding rates regardless of speed. The floating hitch maintains depth control and even placement across uneven ground.

FAQ

What does my tractor need?
A Category I/II hitch with at least 35 HP. No hydraulics or PTO power is required.

Can it plant both small and large seeds?
Yes. The front micro-meter box precisely plants fine seeds, while the rear blade-agitator handles heavier or chaffy seeds and seed blends.

Can it operate without planting seeds?
Yes. Use the seed-drive disconnect pin to disable seeding while still using tillage or packing tools in the field.

How deep can it till?
Disc gangs cut shallowly (about 2–3 in). Pulverizer rollers firm the soil at the chosen depth.
