Roto Grind 1090 Tub Grinder, 1,000 RPM PTO

The Roto Grind 1090 is a 1,000 RPM PTO tub grinder for operations processing a steady volume of hay, straw, and wet or dry forage. Its nine-foot tub gives loading equipment a large target, while an electronic governor slows or stops tub rotation when tractor speed falls under load.

Inside the mill are six hammer sets with 24 standard hammers and 12 hard-surfaced lead hammers. Five shear plates can be adjusted independently from zero to 2 1/2 inches, allowing the operator to change the finished material without exchanging screens. Two 2-inch water bungs are provided for wet-forage work.

Capacity varies widely because wet forage, finer settings, and limited tractor power all slow the job. A useful quote starts with the material being ground, its moisture, the finished length wanted, available PTO horsepower and hydraulics, and the loader that will keep the tub supplied.
