Air Reels

We sell the Crary Air Reel, a header air system that replaces most factory reels. It directs a continuous curtain of high-velocity air at the cutterbar to move cut crop toward the back of the header for more even feeding.

The Air Reel works in beans ranging from short to chest-high plants.

Air Reel Components and Adjustments

  • Air delivery: The system uses an 8-inch steel center manifold, steel drop tubes, and a double air tube at each end of the header.
  • Airflow control: An electric actuator adjusts air volume from the cab, while the Air Flow Indicator shows how much air is being used.
  • Air direction: A pitch actuator changes airflow direction, and the flex hose permits fore-and-aft adjustment during operation.
  • Tine setting: Tine pitch changes how aggressively the fingers engage the crop.
