Flail Mowers

We offer Baumalight and Maschio flail mowers for tractors, mini skid steers and skid steers. Fixed mowers cover the area behind or ahead of the machine, while side-offset and boom models reach into ditches and around obstacles. Compare cutting width and reach with the areas you maintain.

Roadsides, Ditches and Orchards

These flail mowers cut grass and brush in orchards, along roadsides, and in ditches. Maschio Giraffa models move behind or beside the tractor, while Baumalight boom mowers extend the flail head beyond the skid steer.

Hydraulic Skid-Steer Heads

The Baumalight FEB700 skid-steer flail mower has an 88-inch path, 80-inch rotor, 42 blade clusters, and an 18- to 35-GPM hydraulic range. Its maximum pressure is 4,000 PSI; a case drain is required. The FEB700 has a standard skid-steer plate and weighs 1,091 pounds.

The smaller Baumalight FMM148 mini-skid flail mower has a 61-inch path and 48-inch rotor. It requires 8 to 15 GPM at 2,000 to 4,000 PSI, along with a case drain. It has a universal mini-skid adapter and weighs 585 pounds.

Tractor Flail Mowers

The Baumalight FMP260 tractor flail mower has a 72-inch path, 60-inch rotor, 48 blade clusters, a Category 1 hitch, a 540-rpm PTO, a slip clutch, and a 900-pound unit weight. Baumalight rates maximum engine power at 45 HP. The Baumalight FMP780 tractor flail mower has an 87-inch path, 80-inch rotor, 42 blade clusters, Category 1 and Category 2 hitch compatibility, a 540-rpm PTO, a slip clutch, and a 1,340-pound unit weight. Baumalight rates maximum engine power at 110 HP.

Maschio Giraffa models are side-mounted tractor-PTO mulchers with hydraulic horizontal and vertical movement, floating heads, hammer tools, and rear rollers. The Giraffa S 120, 140, and 160 have working widths of 1.15, 1.35, and 1.55 meters. Their respective power ranges are 15 to 35 HP, 20 to 35 HP, and 24 to 35 HP. The Giraffa M 120, 140, 160, and 180 have working widths of 1.2, 1.4, 1.6, and 1.75 meters. Power requirements are model-specific: 35 to 59 HP for the M120 and 50 to 59 HP for the M180. External-gearbox Giraffa L 155, 170, and 190 models have working widths of 1.49, 1.64, and 1.84 meters and a 39- to 79-HP range.

Skid-Steer Boom Mowers

The Baumalight SWA540 single-arm boom flail mower pairs a 48-inch head with six feet of flat reach. The Baumalight SWF560 articulated boom flail mower uses the same head width with ten feet of flat reach and an articulated boom and stick. Both require a case drain and use piston motors with a maximum rating of 4,500 PSI. These boom models use 38 F2000 blade clusters as standard; 76 F3000 clusters are optional.
