Overview

The Baumalight PT650 is a heavy-duty, 3-point hitch tree spade engineered for precision transplanting with tractors.

Designed for large-scale operations, it produces a professional-grade, 50" diameter root ball up to 43" deep, making it ideal for moving evergreen trees up to 5" in diameter. This model features manual hydraulic controls on a dual-position mounting stand, providing the operator with reliable, tactile command over the digging process without the need for complex in-cab electronics.

Built for durability and stability, the PT650 utilizes a six-blade design that ensures cleaner cuts and better soil compression for a more viable transplant. The dual-hinged outer frame arms allow the unit to open wide (up to 47"), enabling the operator to hug the tree trunk closely while protecting lower branches from damage during positioning.

Six-Blade Digging System

The PT650 features six semi-truncated blades made of 1/4" high-alloy steel. This multi-blade configuration provides superior soil penetration and creates a more uniform root ball, which is essential for the survival of large hardwood and evergreen trees.

Manual Valve Controls

Equipped with a dedicated bank of manual hydraulic levers, this unit offers straightforward, dependable operation. The manual system is preferred for its simplicity and long-term reliability in rugged field conditions.

High-Strength "Tree Hugger" Frame

The dual-hinged frame opens to a full 47", allowing the spade to be positioned accurately around the tree. This "hugging" action ensures the blades are perfectly centered for an even cut while minimizing trauma to the tree’s canopy.

Power Built-In 3PH Mount

Designed for Category 2 hitches, the built-in hydraulics leverage the tractor's power to provide tilt, down pressure, and lift. This ensures the frame stays stable during the dig and has the force necessary to extract heavy root balls from the ground.

Rugged Construction & Safety

The PT650 is finished with a durable powder coat and features sleeved hydraulic hoses and JIC fittings for leak protection and easy servicing. Anti-slip step pads are integrated into the frame for safe operator movement around the machine.
